I've started re-watching this series, because I LOVE THE WINCHESTER BOYS!!!!
I find it amazing how scrawny they look in season 1 compared to season 7, but they are still cute! :-)

To be honest I put off watching this series for a long time because I thought it would be too scary, but now I love it. I missed the episodes of season 8, so I can't wait until it's out on DVD.
So far I've purchase all 7 seasons and I don't regret it.

Just in case you're not familiar with the story: the series is about 2 brothers, Dean and Sam Winchester, who are hunters of supernatural beings.
The pilot episode, which aired in 2005, introduced a 4 year old Dean with his 6 month old baby brother Sam. Unfortunately, at the very beginning of the story Dean and Sam's mother is killed by Lucifer himself, while he is trying to make Sam drink his blood. He manages to feed Sam his blood, but while he is doing that, he is interrupted by Sam's mother. As a result she dies in a sea of flames while stuck to the ceiling by supernatural forces.
In current times, Dean Winchester is played by Jensen Ackles. Jensen was born in 1978 and is also known for his brief roles in Smallville and Dawson's Creek. In 2009 Jensen starred in 'My Bloody Valentine'. Jensen's won 2 awards in his career and has been nominated for a further 7 awards.
Sam Winchester is played by Jared Padalecki. Jared started acting at the age of 12 and since beginning his career at this tender age he has been nominated for 7 awards. Jared started out on the Gilmore Girls and has since starred in movies such as Friday the 13th and House of Wax.
Shoot me now! I can't believe I forgot to mention the other most important member of the cast - Jeffrey Dean Morgan. Ok I know I'm showing my age, but isn't he just a honey!
Jeffrey Dean Morgan plays Dean and Sam's father, John Winchester. Jeffrey was born in 1966 - so he is more my age! He has a list of movies and TV shows to his name the length of my arm. Some which may be more recognisable include:

The story in Season 1 continues as Dean turns up at Sam's college dormitory announcing that their father has gone missing while on a 'hunt'. Dean convinces Sam to join him on the hunt for their missing dad. Needless to say the father is still missing by the end of Season 1, but other tragic events have forced Sam back into the life of a hunter and both Dean and Sam now continue hunting monsters and demons while looking for their dad. Throughout Season 1 Dean and Sam battle a variety of different monsters, including ghosts and demons.
I enjoyed Season 1 so much that I raced out to buy the other seasons immediately. I've now watched all the season, but re-watching and informing as I go along.
If you haven't seen this series, I highly recommend it.

I've never heard of any of these, but I once purchased a Platinum Ten Movie pack containing these movies. I decided to start watching them.
If anyone has heard of any of the above, please let me know. Some of these movies are so lame, that they don't even get a mention on IMDB and I can't even find any information about them on the WWW. Sad but true!
Bradley Cooper, Rory Jansen, stars as a writer struggling with his inability to write along the lines of great writers like Hemingway. On his honeymoon in Paris, with his new wife Dora, Zoe Saldana, they purchase an old briefcase and he finds a story hidden deep within its pocket. The complications start for Rory when he succumbs to his need of publication.
The movie opens with Dennis Quaid narrating his own book about a young writer - Rory Jansen, his new wife Dora and his struggles to write a book, he looks really old by the way - Dennis that is, and slowly tells the story about how Rory Jansen, the writer, became a world famous author.
This movie is a definite eye opener in that it makes you think about life and your own life - especially about the things that you wanted to do and haven't so far as well as the decisions you made along the way of life's journey.
The moral of the story is about living with your decisions and moving on when a bad one is made.
Brian Klugman and Lee Sternthal managed to write a screenplay whereby an author has written about his own life experiences through the eyes of a third person.
My friend and I found it a little bit confusing and the ending is left somewhat open - allowing for a wide variety of interpretation. Leaving the ending so open allows people to discuss its possibilities.
The movie over all was easy to watch, allowed individual thought as well as opened up topics of conversation after movie. An uncomplicated, dramatic film with a great cast of stars.
I've made a decision. In order to honour the commencement of Season 3 of The Walking Dead (TWD) I will be dedicating this Blog to anything and everything Zombie until the end of October. This will also be fitting considering it is Halloween on October 31.

Not much, just some good entertainment and some very thorough education on BDSM. It certainly is an eye-opener and made me wonder if there are really people out there who are into this kind of sexual kinkiness?
But if I'm honest, I have to admit that some of it sounded kind of exciting and had me questioning myself if I would ever try anything like it if given the opportunity?
Let me run through the characters:
We have the very predictable main male character "Mr Christian Grey", who is needless to say tall, somewhat dark and extremely handsome. But, of course, the positive attributes don't just stop there! He also happens to be filthy rich, a considerate and very skilled lover, who no doubt is very well endowed. To top it all off he is also very talented, good at everything, philanthropic and very generous with his money. Now we know that this is a fairy-tale, because in reality such a man does not exist! But in fantasy land he is every woman's dream come true :-)
then we have:
The very beautiful, naive, skinny, virginal, main female character "Ms Ana Steele". This charming leading lady is not only all of the above, but she is also smart, intelligent and has a will of iron. She won't let any man - regardless of his character or bank balance - boss her around. I think deep down though she is just a little too stubborn and also not possessed of a lot of common sense. A lot of the story-line could have been avoided if only she wasn't soooo lacking in common-sense. Nevertheless the character on the whole is endearing and had me rooting for her all the way to the end. (but that's only because I myself am a closet feminist)
E. L. James then thought up a few extra characters to pad out the story in order to fill 3 whole books of around 500+ pages each. There was no real purpose in the additional characters as there were no real stories involving them, except in the last book...but I won't discuss details for those who haven't read them!
I found it most admirable that this author could take a very popular, extremely well written and entertaining series of books which were later converted to movies - change the qualities, names and attributes of the main characters - and then come up with a whole story of her own. I realise that this trilogy saw its beginnings as fan-fiction, but to be able to develop a story such as this with such humble beginnings is admirable. It got me thinking, if she could do it why can't I? But I think the answer to that is that the story to pseudo copy has to be something that is very popular and has sold a lot of copies with a potential movie deal in the wings. If the right story could be nabbed, there is a winner!
Here comes the million dollar question. Who do you think should play the leading characters of this movie?
My pick for Christian Grey is definitely Matt Bomer. Check out his fan site! Unfortunately, some disturbing news is that he may be "too busy". I don't believe it! Who would say no to a role like this? In other news, Ian Somerhalder, is playing it cool, but is willing to step up for the auditions. Does anyone think he would make a good Christian Grey? I'm undecided on him as my heart is set on Matt Bomer!

I'm uncertain about the actor for Ana Steele. Some suggestions refer to either Ashley Greene or Alexis Bledel. I personally am leaning towards Alexis Bledel. Sorry Ashley, but as much as I love you in Twilight - I just don't think the role of Ana is for you. I think I'm skewed by Twilight, but I can only imagine you as Christian's sister Mia. I think, in order to distance itself from Twilight, actors should be picked who had nothing to do with the original Twilight series. This would make the movie feel a little bit more independent and not just a spin-off from the Twilight series.

Well so much for cleaning the oven and baking the below mentioned goodies!
Instead I spent an awesome day with my friend Nicola. We went for a lovely walk through Mt Cootha National Park followed by Sushi and a movie. Ted was a very funny but very crude movie. Mark Wahlberg plays a very lovable looser and he plays it sooooo well! Seth McFarlane, the creator of the Family Guy franchise, has once again brought his audiences crudeness, lewdness and lots and lots of laughter. Not recommended for children or people without a sense of humour, but definitely recommended for everybody else. It's an excellent choice for when you don't want too much to think about. It's a very light, easy to watch movie.
